November is Picture Book Month, a literacy observance that “celebrates the print picture book.” There is much to celebrate in the coming new year, so this Picture Book Month list features a preview of titles by Black authors releasing in 2022 from January-March. The paperback edition of Brothers & Sisters: Family Poems from the late poet and author, Eloise Greenfield, and artist, Jan Spivey Gilchrist, will be available on January 4th along with a board book edition of Sweet, Sweet Baby! by Caldecott recipient, Javaka Steptoe.
Stories from prolific writers Jacqueline Woodson and Andrea Davis Pinkney to debut authors Adrea Theodore and Antwan Eady offer a broad range of fiction and nonfiction selections. This preview list does not represent all the picture books releasing from January-March. More titles will appear on our monthly new releases announcement posts.
