November’s new releases list includes the Special 20th Anniversary Edition of celebrated author Toni Morrison’s debut picture book, The Book of Mean People, coauthored with her son Slade Morrison and illustrated by Pascal Lemaitre. The book’s description says, “Today’s young readers certainly know about meanness and will feel satisfied by having their perspective championed…as well as heartened by the book’s message of embracing optimism, kindness, and joy…” Why not introduce young readers to the phenomenal Toni Morrison! Other books on the list represent a wide range of genres and themes, such as graphic novels about super and sports heroes, picture book and middle-grade biographies, YA romance, fantasy, and an adaptation of Isabel Wilkerson’s Caste.
