I am from Memphis, TN. I was born and raised in the heart of North Memphis. In high school, I debated, played basketball, and became the founder of "Love, Girls Magazine Memphis." I was an honors student graduating number five in my class. I graduated from Thee Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Spanish in Nashville, TN which is a historically black college. In college, I was a part of LYLAS, Futuro, and NAACP all while maintaining a job and school. After graduating, I began teaching at schools in Memphis, TN.
