Emily Joof
Emily Joof was born in Lagos, Nigeria to a Gambian Father and Malian-French mother. Growing up, she lived in several countries before recently settling in Sweden. Emily has a career in Education in International Development and has worked in community organizations as well as larger International Non-Governmental Organizations. She did her Bachelor's degree in Ancient History & Social Anthropology, at University College London and her Master's in Education & International Development at the Institute of Education, University of London. In the autumn of 2017, Emily began a PHD program in Education and Social Justice, the focus of her research being Diversity in Children's literature. Most importantly, Emily is mum to two children under the age of six who have been her greatest inspiration and motivation to write children's books. Emily has travelled the world extensively and speaks fluent French, English, Swedish, and Wolof. And she has pretty good command of Spanish.
