Although Halloween is a little over a month away, there are only a handful of picture books by Black authors to feature during this season. I Got the Spooky Spirit (Bloomsbury USA) by Connie Schofield-Morrison and Frank Morrison is slated for release in 2023. This list includes some fairly new titles and some classic ones from Patricia C. McKissack and Virginia Hamilton. There is also one title from an indie author.
